Photos of P-38J "Porky II" (previously called "Joltin' Josie, now painted as "23 Skidoo") at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, CA. Photographs taken Dec 2003.
The plane was being worked on which provided a great opportunity to see some of the innards of the P-38 engine compartments. (I was very happy that the mechanic didn't seem to mind me taking so many pictures and being so close to the plane.) Also, Porky II had its external tanks mounted. Note the absence of shell ejector chutes.
