On the first day, all four P-38s took to the sky, but only three went up the second day. Each day, a F-22 joined two for a heritage flights.
The first day of the show was September 11, and it was fitting that the four P-38s performed the "missing man" formation to the sound of taps on that day -- a very moving sight to see.
Just days prior to flying out for this event I had purchased a new telephoto lens. I was still learning how to use it during the event, so while some shots turned out great, others are only so-so. I found it quite difficult to photograph speeding P-38s through the telephoto! I have enhanced a few shots with a few artistic effects.
