The National P-38 Association Museum is located in Riverside, CA next to March Air Force Base, which is historically connected to the plane. I visited May 2017. These photos are of their full sized P-38L replica and other items of interest, including a partial reconstruction of a boom, showing the engine, exhaust piping, turbocharger, and stowed wheel, as well as a late-model instrument panel.

The plane's markings honor famed Lockheed test pilot Tony LeVier. While the markings state it is a P-38J-10, it contains dive flaps, left-wing-inset landing light, fuel pump blister and other features more consistent with a P-38L. Perhaps it represent a test mule that Mr. LeVier flew as Lockheed evolved the design.
